Life goes on~

Good morning!~ And to my muslim brothers Assalamualaikum. This here is an entry like so many entries before with the exception of being an entry unpublished for so long due to the entry of so many entries in my life. Undoubtedly, your entry to my entry is bound to leave you...oh you get the point. I hope.

Dear esteemed readers, you are undoubtedly curious of what has transpired in the life and times of Shahnon and I am pleased to inform you that I shall kindly update you. Promptly. Where to begin? AHA!
First and foremost, last week was hell of a busy one. The dance for the MSSM event was on a Saturday and I "smartly" decided to avoid Taekwondo class as I would be requiring energy, pure and sweet, to perform for the event. When I promptly arrived at school I realised Taekwondo lessons were ending and being a jackass somewhat I went up to the instructor and KINDLY requested for my cert as I had passed my grading from blue belt to blue belt. The horror! The sir litterally screamed at my face and all nearby crushing and tearing a number of certs in the process. The image of a man of his girth and looks doing such a thing leaves me disturbed.
Oh enough about that I shall rewind to the part where we are in the stadium. Sabah was winning most of the running events there with Johor being a close second. Selangor was nowhere to be seen! Regardless we were the closing act and because of that we had to wait from 12.30 all the way to 5. Then we got up and shook our booty!
Let me just say that we were required to tuck in our shirts and wear this really nerdy cap that had the number 50 plastered on it. A school of nerds. Despite that we performed whole heartedly to "Lets get loud" and "Grease Lightning" earning the hearts of atheletes all over Malaysia. No cute guys/girls though sadly. =((

Later that night I got to watch Kenny G in action at Genting. I was cracking my head thinking of points for my debate which was early the next morning as well. Meaning I had to rush home the next morning early. As early as 5am. Ouch.
Kenny G was the bomb though, he really hit my G spot with his amazing SAXophone skills. Erm that didn't sound to right but...oh well. The Agong Tuanku Mizal Zainan graced us with his presence that evening as well. Kenny even went into the audience as he played his songs.

With that aside I had my debate the next day. The motion was "This house would imprison women who smoke during pregnancy" and fortunately we were the opposition. The debate was held in HELP college and I needed all the help I could get as my mind was so damned foggy from waking up at 5. In fact my POIs so off the centre that day the Government team couldve just laughed themselves to death. If only...
Some Bandar Utama school was our rivals for the evening...drats morning, though evening sounds sexier, and their third speaker a timid looking girl proved to be a real chilli padi when she shot us all nicely. In fact as I bombarded her with a POI she promptly reminded me that the bell had yet to rung. DING! Then the damnable rang. !@%@! Si On and Tanita were top notch that day though and they saved the day.
Special thanks to Jo Zee and Wei Wen for offering support to us and booing at the Government team. Muax. Now if only I could get some damned PHOTOS!

Oh and one final entry to this long overdue and just plain LONG entry. RIP to my cat Tamarine whom was brutally and savagely mauled to death by my neighbour's dog. I had earlier written an entry littered with obscenities which I have promptly deleted. Sniff. I miss Tammy....(cat)

IU Day has ended~!

Hola and greetings! Im glad to announce that I have just returned from my excursion to the Korean Culture Centre for our International Understanding Day!! The whole trip was a fair success and I am glad that it is over thus taking my mind of one of the billions of other stressful activities that plague my everyday life.

We began arriving at 8 o clock at the school canteen for a wonderful day of thrills and spills. Pn Rajes made the sudden announcement that she was a vegeterian and wanted me to call the centre at the eleventh hour to see if they could change her order. She had her Roti Canai just in case.

When the clock struck 8.30, the first joke of the day began. Pn Rajes was away and I instructed everyone to board the bus. Then she got back and ordered everyone down again so she could do her "personal" headcount just as Dic had said she might. Would it not be easier to count INSIDE the bus? We had a cartoon moment there. Further, the bus driver did not know the way there so we got semi lost in Kuala Lumpur with my bladder on its way towards reaching critical mass. Dheepan entertained us with a very very disturbing remix of "Appologize." Oh my, that horrid image is still burnt into my mind.

We finally arrived at the Mugunghwa and without wasting time went to watch the cultural movie that depicted the traditions of Korea. I sadistically "locked" my audience inside the room and laughed maniacally as I knew they would soon die of boredom. Inside the room I was laughing my brains off as the movie was indeed boring making Alex's predictions fairly true. Not to worry, using my ingenious method of innovation I left.

Only to return with a new movie altogether about RAIN! Hell no it wasn't, it was about Korean food. The first thing we learnt was the staple food of Koreans was, rice. NO SHIT! I never freaking knew that! Then we proceeded to learn how to cook rice, and hurray we all never knew that too whooppie doo. I made friends with a Form 3 guy, Jack Sen was his name, during the course of the movie. Nice fellow, cute too. Did you read that right? Maybe.

Noticing boredom beginning to creep its ugly head again I decided to end to movie to begin our next activity which involved a tournament of keeping some sort of...coin sac in the air using our legs. This is similiar to the act of keeping a football afloat by constantly kicking it in the air. After rounds of elimination we finally narrowed down the last four to Daryl, Lu Quan, Eric and Anil. Daryl unsurprisingly won, being a professional football player. We played the drums and gongs like Ja Kuns as well, causing such a din the walls vibrated with the intention of crashing down.

Next we went to look at VASES!! Yes vases. Lame? Like hell I care. Camwhoring took place by the bucketloads at this stage. There was also a library there for the reading pleasure of everyone. After the movie about food everyone was so starved they were pestering me on when the food would arrive. We then went to the lowest floor for our next activity...trying out traditional clothes! And camwhoring in them of course. Of course "lar!"

They set up some kimono like clothes for the girls that looked like maternity clothes. You may just look pregnant in those clothes. For the manly men we had something akin to those traditional japanese clothes...Yugatas I think, with a mosquito netlike hat. To catch mosquitos. Like of course. Li Za decided to cross dress in the guys outfit and I decided to cross dress as the woman. Yes Im aware that I wore a dress. Jealous "ar?" We had a very sweet photo of exchanged gender roles after that. =)

Then came everyones favourite part of the day. Food glorious food! So we ate in with gusto the Korean "bento" sets. The kimichi (letuses) tasted rather odd though. Picture this, lime mixed with cabbage, mixed with wasabi. Yes you get a kick, and not the good kind of kick. Korean sushi is average I prefer the Japanese ones but overall a fairly decent meal.

We then split ourselves into different groups and began going to the nearby korean shoplots. This part of town was seriously Korea town with so many Korean citizens and shops and even products! We mostly bought Korean ice cream and this particular one I bought was so long, hard and black it looked rather "wrong" when I sucked on it. WHAT? How else was I to eat a damned ice cream of that length and hardness! Then it broke with a piece stuck in my mouth and I was forced not to laugh causing me to nearly choke.

And that ladies and gentlemen. Is our IU Day 2008 proudly brought to you by the one and only Shahnon. Oh and Lu Quan. Pictures will (might) be updated later. Good riddance for this report.

Shahnon is dancing!~

Yes you read that right, after months of not dancing Shahnon Lau Chen-Yuen is back in action. Smoking sizzling hot action that is. He will be dancing Grease Lightning from the musical, Grease. Obviously. I shall now revert back to the first person manner of speech so as to not confound and baffle you with my often times over the top verbiage. Whoops!

Believe it or not, the males actually have to pose in an exaggerated manner like this man is doing on top of his car. That means stroking our hair and showing off our "machoness." Eww? You bet. Basically the dance will be something corny from the 60s which is actually fairly fun.

Oh but thats not all folks. Shahnon...I mean myself shall be performing in the Taekwondo taerobics (taekwondo aerobics) as well making it a double sundae icecream hit! So for all your lustful needs go to the Stadium (I dont know what stadium) on the 26th of April for the MSSM closing ceremony. And yes I do sign autographs. Does that give you joygasms yet??

Sigh on a more serious note, to whom it may concern, thanks for a wonderful 1 and a half months of care. Give it some time, when our exams are through who knows what could happen in the future. I might have a car and we could drive to Disney and beyond. But till that time..come what may, take care.

Thanks for a wonderful birthday!~

Yesterday I turned 17! Heres what happened. It started with me going to school despite there being some sort of muslim event and non muslims having to sit for the most long-winded, redundant, INANE "ceramah" on Moral Studies, something we already learn in classrooms. I hate Moral as my morals are not necessarily the morals preached in the syllabus. !%@!

Enough about that! I got the oppurtunity to interview all the junior Interact members that aspired to be the next board of directors. The interviewers were divided into two groups for Form 3's and Form 4's. It was rather fun watching the nervousness of the juniors but I restrained myself from being too nasty cause I remembered being in their shoes once! I had yet to eat my lunch yet and it was already 2.30. Just as I thought the day was over and I was about to leave...SURPRISE!

The whole gang burst in with a beautiful birthday cake! Dic Vinn did mention he went shopping today, but he did not mention he was shopping for my cake! Oh my god guys I love you!! We all had a group hug after that! Thank you Alexandra, Pei Lyn, Lisa, Min Shen, Dic Vinn, Kar Mun, Sung Lin, Dheepan, Shou Yee, Lu Quan, Darren and whomever else I may have missed out! And Kar Mun your present was fantastic!

Later Sung decided to drop by my house for a short while and we all jumped unto Lu Quan's car for a lift. I got the dubious honour of sitting in the boot. Birthday boy in the boot! Haha. Sung ate lunch at my place and we had some ehem..."discussions!" Anyway today was a great day and my friends really brightened it up. Oh and Alex, our political debate is NOT over!!! Roar.

Malaysia truly Asia~

Im being sarcastic of course. In the wake of the recent general elections, Barisan Nasional was displaced in a number of places and a new dawn of Malaysian politics had arrived. Unfortunately our racialist politics are still very much evident and discriminatory as we shall now see in a moment.

Firstly, there was the case wherein DAP won the most number of seats in Perak however the Chief Minister according to the Constitution had to be a Malay and a Muslim at that. So much for democracy. So the DAP finally bends over and allows a PAS candidate to become Chief Minister. Good in the sense that DAP still retains the majority of exco positions.

Then all of a sudden some UMNO monkeys begin protesting that more Malays should be given high posts as the current line up does not accurately reflect the population of Perak. Well news flash, DAP won the most seats so DAP should decide and the other parties agreed. Why the bloody hell is it so difficult to accept non malays in high posts? Just look at Singapore for Pete's sake!

UMNO proved to be sore and sour losers when they lost Penang. After Penang's Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng chose to remove the discriminatory New Economic Policy which gave preference to Malays, UMNO decided to hold a protest. Wowie! And only a few months ago during the Hindraf riots the government said that protesting and rioting is not part of our culture. Hypocracy at its finest!

Barisan is inevitably collapsing and I highly doubt Pak Lah can survive for much longer. Crisises in Perlis, Terengganu and within UMNO as well as component parties MIC, Gerakan and MCA showcases the sinking ship of barisan. For too long have we had babboons for politicians making the most brain dead remarks such as the Opposition being "pondans" (effeminate) and that women should enjoy themselves when being raped.

I certainly enjoy Barisan's fall from grace as it is finally a slap to the complacent oily faces of their inept leaders. Since Dr Mahathir's resignation, Barisan has become from semi tolerable to downright rubbish. When the leaders finally admit that Singapore has succeeded and we have failed then we might actually be going somewhere. Till then, Malaysia truly Asia~! Yea right.

Forgive me for I have sinned...

I killed a frog today. Technically we killed a dozen or so frogs today. Not intentionally of course but rather we were forced to. Pn Asmahan made it our PEKA test to disect the frogs. No thats not all, we had to REMOVE its heart as well and record the beatings. Sickening no?

The day started with me staring pitifully into the eyes of the soon-to-be-dead frog. It was really really saddening! They have these cute, CUTE eyes that sorta plead with you not to kill them.  Aww the poor things...oh well science awaits! The Buddhists in my class did a little Metta for them whilst the Christians uttered short prayers for these poor unfortunate souls. To the Biology lab!

Apparently someone's frog was let loose in a nearby class room and the screams that resonated down the hallways turned Asmahan into a homocidal rage. As soon as we entered, she shot us left right centre. No not literally of course, but verbally. We begun by using droppers to drip chloroform unto the frogs to knock them out so to speak. In the process of applying the delicate chemicals, our amphibian jumped in a desperate attempt to escape leading to its eye being accidentally impaled to our dropper! OUCH!

After our....subject? patient? VICTIM was finally knocked out we proceeded in earnest to put it unto the "surgery table" and apply pins to the legs and arms of the unfortunate soul. Dic Vinn, myself and Donavan were all feeling grossed out about the thought of cutting open this creature and we were actually pushing the duties of impaling it to one another. We finally settled on Don cutting open the creature, with Dicky helping him whilst I prepared the blood samples. Thus the blood of this creature is not on my hands. Technically it isnt but it is but its not but you get the confounded picture.

The gore that followed cannot be accurately described in words but let us just say a picture speaks a thousand words and you may, if you so choose, view a picture of our poor unfortunate subject below. At the end of it all we had to cut out its heart and unceremoniously dump the body into a black plastic bag. No funeral processions whatsoever, just a quick dump and off to the garbage can. May they move on to a better life.

Other than the little frog incident there was not much to be said for today. Well, I did have a cartoon moment when Lee Yok Lay asked me to correct the mistakes on my Chemistry Peka only to be sent back to correct even more mistakes for a grand total of 9 times. "Waliao wei cartoon sial!" Walking back and forth correcting, passing up, returned for correction, passing up x8. I shall now kindly excuse myself to bed. Good night.

Dead froggie!

5 Gamma's Party

Antebellum

Yesterday I went for my class party which was held at Ching Ann Ee's house. Ashta, Hasheena and Latha arrived at my house at 4.30 and we were to go on our merry way to Kota Kemuning. It was Voting Day so most parents were a tad bit worried of us celebrating a party today. That did not change our set and persistent minds. We WOULD have a party and not even a riot would stop that. I hope.

We collected a custom made birthday cake from Xueli to surprise Adrian with. The eurasian's birthday was just scant hours away and we were hell bent on making him cry. Tears of joy mind you nothing more. Sadly the sky decided to rain on us but even that FAILED to dampen (pun intended) our moods. We weathered a number of twists and turns until we finally arrived at Ann Ee's house.

Arriving we had a camwhoring session here, there, everywhere and some barbecued goodies. The dog running rampantly unchecked in the house made Rashida a tad bit nervous but thankfully no untoward incident occured. At least I think nothing happened. We decided to finally have a dancing session hurray.

After assembling Ann Ee's stereo set OUTSIDE the house in the garden we tuned it up full blast and let loose the music! YEA!! 5 Gamma proved to be rather sporting in that they all danced regardless of their skills or lack thereof. Dicky did some amusing shuffle moves while I did a slut dance to everyone's pleasure. Sadly dancing without "someone" means nothing. Cue emo session.

We surprised Adrian by revealing the cake and singing at the top of our lungs. Mr macho was visibly touched and I SWEAR he was teary eyed despite how he may deny. We then held hands in a circle and sang graduation songs and the atmosphere was sad in that we realised we had not much more time together, and yet we promised to stay friends forever.

A short while later I receive an SMS telling me of Sammy Vellu's defeat and the fall of Penang to the DAP. The applause and joy of my classmates fill the night air. I remember arriving home and being glued to the monitor digesting the results of the general elections eagerly. Rumours of riots were abound. The final results?

SELANGOR IS UNDER PKR!

PENANG IS UNDER DAP!

PERAK IS UNDER DAP/PKR!

KELANTAN IS UNDER PAS!

KEDAH IS UNDER PAS!

And last but not least, Barisan Nasional has been denied the 2/3rds majority! Malaysia has made history this day.

Lastly I would like to put up a few random photos of my latest happenings as well as from the party. These photos include my final outting with Jonathan Yoon whom is now in Australia. May he be safe and happy there.

Attention: Incoming IU Day!

Hear ye, hear ye, as International Understanding (IU) Director of the Interact club of SMKSU, it is my greatest pleasure to announce to you ladies and gentlemen our IU day for 2008! A trip to the Korean Culture Centre. The Mugunghwa which is located in Jalan Ampang Utama, somewhere near Ampang Point is full of exciting movies, activities and art galleries. The area is located in a hidden Korea Town right here in Malaysia! And I never knew..

On a side note, princess won the MSSD for volleyball. Jolly good I need to give her serious congrats. Not an easy feat mind you. Life is hectic and stressful, but Im not the only one. Apparently I now have to lead a Taekwondo demonstration for sports day AND MSSM. M!! As in nationwide. Ill write my death warrant soon.

The paperwork for IU day is some killer work. For every mistake I make, I have to redo each and every single thing costing me more time and money. Yesterday the school celebrated Pn Wu's farewell and the atmosphere was 'emo' so to speak. I was amongst those that saluted Pn Wu as she entered the hall. Guess what, she remembered me! My name! And she shook my sweaty hand! Exaggerations aside Im glad to have been noticed.

Apparently, I have to do a write up of this event and send it to the Star. Wowwie my very own article in a newspaper thats so full of government crap. Nevermind that, Pn Wu left in style. Boarding a sports edition Lotus, she was driven out of the school by Pn Sherily off into Neverland. Farewell! Ill miss you, as will we all.

The winds of change are upon us...

Last night my dad and I decided to hear firsthand what the Opposition, DAP, had to say at the field in SS 14. Apparently their candidate for Subang is none other than Hannah Yeoh, 29, who was the ex Head Prefect of SMK Subang Utama. As usual the Star was one sided in most of its stories concerning politics, usually painting a bad and disorganised image of the Opposition. I say to you now:

It is not so.

The Opposition voiced out about the people's grieviences. For too long has this corrupt Government launder the People's money for their own corrupt dreams. For too long have we suffered under this oppresive regime that descriminates people based on race and religion. Why the hell are we talking about race and religion FIFTY (count em') years after independance? Don't we have more pressing issues such as inflation and crime?

Barisan is pushing for a two-thirds majority in Parliament thus giving them unlimited power to change laws as and when they like to suit their perverted purposes. Long gone is the Alliance of old under Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tun Tan Cheng Lock. All we have now is but a hollow shell of what once was a great coalition that had taken Malaysia to new heights.

The Government further claims that foreign investors will be driven away by an unstable political environment. Such a claim only further proves their stupidity as foreign investors would rather have a country with a powerful Opposition for check and balance and we all know the saying ,"Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely." And thus as Barisan is corrupt it no doubt wants to maintain hold of the power it has over Malaysia.

MCA is another bag of bullshit. Not only has it failed our people by giving off more and more of our rights, they now claim that if the chinese do not unite and vote MCA their voices will not be heard in Parliament. Goodness gracious have we all forgotten that you cannot change the government from within as no matter what UMNO does, MCA and MIC has to follow suit for that is Barisan's policy. No matter how unjust UMNO becomes or how righteous the Opposition is, MCA will still support UMNO. Why would they not? After all they are getting all our money.

The turnout last night was great and it gave me chills to see how many people were interested to listen to the Opposition's side of the story that was and still is being distorted by the media. The Opposition gives us one thing thats for sure and that is HOPE. Hope for democracy, hope for the future and hope for a Malaysian Malaysia..

People should not be afraid of their governments, Governments should be afraid their People. - V

Vote for Hannah Yeo as Subang state assembly
